With his sixth album „Far Out“, EM musician Andreas Baaden takes us on a journey into the infinity of space – and into the depths of the human psyche. Andreas remains true to his line on „Far Out“: Like its predecessors, the album lives from contradictions. Dark psychotracks like „Void“ stand in contrast to excessive, rock-oriented tracks like the almost 10-minute „Strange Encounter in Lunar Orbit“ or the title track of the album. „Sector 9A“ is a melange of Latin Music and EM. Interesting contrasts are also offered by the two fundamentally different versions of „Away in the Sky“. While Part 1 is a lively, witty-ironic instrumental number with a music box sound, Part 2 reflects the eternity of death.
Antares Arrival“, „Trouble in Space“ and the symphonic „First Light“ tell of other journeys into eternity. The lively electro-pop instrumental „Spider’s Gumdrop“ is a homage to the forgotten flight of Apollo 9 in spring 1969, when the moon landing was tested in Earth orbit – with the lunar module „Spider“ and the Apollo command capsule „Gumdrop“. With „Rain“ and „Circle of Dreams“ the album also contains two chillout tracks.
If you’re looking for variety, you’ll find it on „Far Out“. This variety is not surprising, since Andreas also plays keyboards in the Bonn rock band „Basement Two“, which plays some of his songs in other versions and with vocals. The ideas for the songs mostly came from live improvisations in Andreas‘ studio in Aegidienberg. Andreas Ollhoff, who also mastered the tracks of „Far Out“, put the finishing touches to the songs. The album artwork comes from Andreas‘ daughter Lisa-Marie Baaden.
The musician has lived with his family in Aegidienberg near Bad Honnef in the inspiring Siebengebirge since 1995 and has been making music since the eighties. Fans of Tangerine Dream, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Michael Rother, Jean-Michel Jarre, Schiller or Coldplay will like „Far Out“.

Mit seinem sechsten Album „Far Out“ nimmt uns der EM-Musiker Andreas Baaden mit auf eine Reise in die Unendlichkeit des Alls – und in die Tiefen der menschlichen Psyche. Andreas bleibt auf „Far Out“ seiner Linie treu: Das Album lebt wie seine Vorgänger von den Widersprüchen. Düstere Psychotracks wie „Void“ stehen im Gegensatz zu ausschweifenden, rockorientierten Stücken wie das fast 10-minütige „Strange Encounter in Lunar Orbit“ oder auch der Titeltrack des Albums. „Sector 9A“ ist eine Mélange von Latin Music und EM. Interessante Gegensätze bieten auch die zwei grundverschiedenen Versionen von „Away in the Sky“. Ist Part 1 eine lebhafte, witzig-ironische Instrumentalnummer mit Spieluhr-Sound, so reflektiert Part 2 die Ewigkeit des Todes.
Von anderen Reisen in die Ewigkeit erzählen „Antares Arrival“, „Trouble in Space“ sowie das symphonische „First Light“. Das beschwingte Elektropop-Instrumental „Spider’s Gumdrop“ ist eine Hommage an den vergessenen Flug von Apollo 9 im Frühjahr 1969, bei dem die Mondlandung im Erdorbit getestet wurde – mit der Landefähre „Spider“ und der Apollo-Kommandokapsel „Gumdrop“. Mit „Rain“ und „Circle of Dreams“ enthält das Album auch zwei Chillout-Tracks.
Wer Abwechslung sucht, wird bei „Far Out“ fündig. Diese Vielfalt ist nicht verwunderlich, spielt Andreas doch nebenbei auch noch Keyboards in der Bonner Rockband „Basement Two“, die einige seiner Songs in anderen Versionen und mit Gesang spielt. Die Ideen für die Stücke sind zumeist bei Live-Improvisationen in Andreas‘ Studio in Aegidienberg entstanden. Für den letzten Schliff sorgte wieder Andreas Ollhoff, der auch die Tracks von „Far Out“ gemastert hat. Das Album-Artwork kommt von Andreas‘ Tochter Lisa-Marie Baaden.
