Andreas Baaden’s fifth album „Polarlicht“, like its predecessors, is a colourful journey through the various styles of electronic music. „I simply make the music that I enjoy and am very spontaneous,“ Andreas describes his musical credo. „I know that I don’t fit into any category, but then I just open a new one: Surprise EM. When I sit down on my keyboards, I don’t know beforehand which direction comes out. The main thing is that it’s fun!

While „Polarlicht“, „Teravone“, „Stardust“ and „Sphere“ are still classic EM tracks, „Chronos“, „Gamma“ and „Gate 15“ rock progressively electronic, „Antares“, „Aetherwellenritt“ and „Line 5“ invite you to chill, and „Antastica“ is a dark, disturbing EM track. „Landscape“, „Nicht am Ende“ and „Copy and Paste“ even go in the direction of electro-pop. Andreas also plays keyboards in the Bonn rock band „Basement Two“, which plays some of his songs in other versions and with vocals. The ideas for the tracks mostly came from live improvisations in Andreas‘ Antares-Studio in Aegidienberg. Andreas Ollhoff, who has mastered the tracks of „Polarlicht“, is responsible for the finishing touches. The album cover was designed by Andreas‘ daughter Janina Baaden.

Andreas Baadens fünftes Album „Polarlicht“ ist wie seine Vorgänger eine abwechslungsreiche Reise durch die verschiedensten Stile der Elektronischen Musik. „Ich mache einfach die Musik, die mir Spaß macht und bin dabei sehr spontan“, umschreibt Andreas sein musikalisches Credo. „Ich weiß, dass ich damit in keine Schublade passe, aber dann mache ich halt eine neue auf: Überraschungs-EM. Wenn ich mich an meine Keyboards setze, weiß ich vorher nicht, welche Richtung herauskommt. Hauptsache, es macht Spaß!“

Sind „Polarlicht“, „Teravone“, „Stardust“ und „Sphere“ noch klassische EM-Tracks, so rocken „Chronos“, „Gamma“ und „Gate 15“ progressiv-elektronisch los, „Antares“, „Ätherwellenritt“ und „Line 5“ laden ein zum Chillen, und „Antastica“ ist ein düsterer, beunruhigender EM-Track. „Landscape“, „Nicht am Ende“ und „Copy and Paste“ gehen sogar in Richtung Electro-Pop. Die Vielfalt ist nicht verwunderlich, spielt Andreas doch nebenbei auch noch Keyboards in der Bonner Rockband „Basement Two“, die einige seiner Songs in anderen Versionen und mit Gesang spielt. Die Ideen für die Tracks sind zumeist bei Live-Improvisationen in Andreas‘ Antares-Studio in Aegidienberg entstanden. Für den letzten Schliff sorgt Andreas Ollhoff, der die Tracks von „Polarlicht“ gemastert hat. Das Album-Cover hat Andreas‘ Tochter Janina Baaden gestaltet.
